Welcome to
Huyton Family of Parishes
What is Huyton Family of Parishes?
A Family of Parishes is a group of neighbouring parishes that collaborate closely in their mission to serve the community and live out the Gospel. These families were introduced as part of the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s pastoral plan, aiming to renew parish life by fostering greater cooperation, sharing resources, and encouraging a more mission-oriented approach. The goal is to create vibrant communities where individuals and families can encounter Christ, grow as disciples, and accompany one another in faith. By working together, these parishes can better steward their resources and ensure that the mission of the Church thrives in changing times.
Huyton’s Family of Parishes includes:
– St Agnes & St Aidan
– St Albert the Great
– St Aloysius
– St Columba & St John Fisher
– St Dominic
In April and May 2024, all 6 parishes who make up the Family of Parishes of Huyton, were given the opportunity to discuss how we look to and plan for the future of the church in Huyton. The answers everyone gave to the 6 questions were all read and typed up to form a collection of data that helped inform the next stage of the working process. The representatives from the 6 parishes, working as part of the Exploring the Future Group (EFG), met for a full day’s meeting on Saturday 22nd June 2024. This meeting looked closely at the analysed data: collected from all the questionnaires.
Here you will be able see all the information gathered from the questionnaires and feedback from the meetings that were held in May.
Hard copies of this data are also available at the back of each of the 6 churches in the Huyton Family of Parishes.
Update: Following the meeting held on 2nd October 2024, all the data from feedback forms was analysed and the following document produced. This information is being used to help discern the way forward. Further updates will be made available as soon as it is possible to do so.
